Research in Groups

The idea of this program is to give small groups of at least 3 people the chance to carry out research at the institute. We are open to a very flexible use of this program. What we don’t want is just a workshop. The intention should be towards new research. Interaction between the participants should be central and an application should make clear how this can be successfully achieved. Duration of the program can be up to three months and not shorter than one month (which in exceptional cases can be divided into two halves).

Applications should be sent by email to the Director of HIM, Prof. Dr. Matthias Kreck ( They should include the following information about the proposed research: clear description of the intention/goals, indication of expected outcomes, proposed dates and timeline. Please also submit the CV and list of publications for each group member. Deadline for Applications is the end of September. The Scientific Board will decide at the end of the following January for applications concerning the year starting January of the following year (for example January 2011 applications for the period January 2012 - December 2012 are decided).

The stay will be fully financed by the institute.
